Tina Sustaeta has been licensed by the State of Texas Board of Examiners as a Professional Counselor since 2006.
Mrs. Sustaeta began her Master’s degree in Counseling at Arizona State University in 1992, and completed her Masters degree in Counseling at Texas A & M University-Corpus Christi. She also received a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Incarnate Word in San Antonio.
She has 19 years of experience providing individual services, customizing her approach depending on the clinical needs of each person. Her belief is that every individual is unique, so the therapy that works for one person may not work for another. Her personal approach to working with children and adolescents is to look at the “big picture” by considering all environments the child is involved such as school, home, or extra-curricular activities.
Mrs. Sustaeta’s areas of expertise are ADHD/ADD, behavior issues at home/school, collaborating with schools, depression, anxiety, sexual abuse, high-conflict custody experience, the effects of divorce, family reunification, and relationship conflicts.
Mrs. Sustaeta has 10 years working with couples, using the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy, which seeks to “level the playing field” by ensuring both parties learn to communicate in a respectful, non-conflicting manner. In working with couples her areas of expertise are, depression, anxiety, sexual abuse, high-conflict custody experience, the effects of divorce, family reunification, and relationship conflicts.
